Along with prepping the release of several records that have not seen the light of day, Italix has been hard at work crafting his own songs from the ground up. Naturally after years of working with the finest producers and musicians in so cal, he has taken up producing tracks himself, and is now working out of his private studio in downtown Santa Ana. The first song for the self produced project will be released as a video in early Nov.
Italix has been in the studio recently. Working with some of his favorite producers, he has been crafting the most advance music of his career. Italix has been very fortunate to work with people like LD (Sublime's Current DJ, Visionaries, Technicali), MR. Qtastic (Daz, Warren G), The Optimist, and Ronnie King (Pepper, Offspring, 2pac, Snoop, Mariah Carey). He has also had the opportunity to work with NY Dj's Static and Bass, on a pumping EDM single called "Material Love". The business behind all of these records is in the works, and the songs will see the light of day soon. Be on the lookout
Due to business and legal reasons, Italix's band The Funnel Heads have had to change their name to Italix and The Funnel Heads. This project fueled by super producer Lewis Richards, has seen some great buzz since its release. Italix and The Funnel Heads are awaiting the release of their highly anticipate EP in Fall 2013. Some great things have been said about this project and the future is looking nothing but bright for the Band.
Downtown Santa Ana is a haven for art, good food and entertainment. On a last minute invite Italix's band The Funnel Heads were added on the bill for the Blue Lot Festival. Nov. 17th 2012 All Ages $5 cover children under 12 free.
The Funnel Heads release their first official single later on this month along with their first official music video. Italix has been working extremely hard on this project and has put the majority of his music aside to make the band happen. The single is produced by Lewis Richards (Sublime, Dirty Heads, Slightly Stoopid), and was recorded in April/May 2012. Released under Acropolis Records, the release is going to coincide with their official internet push of the band. In other words look for many projects from TFH as well as Italix in the very near future. Expect free music, single releases, shows, and lots of videos.
After a long hiatus from his solo projects due to the demanding nature of his band as well as a major injury, Italix is back in the studio. Cutting all types of records with all types of artists and producers, he is prepping for a major push in 2013. One of the more notable endeavors he is involved in is a single he is creating with legendary keys player/producer Ronnie King (Nofx, Rancid, Offspring, 2pac). Word is the single is set to change the face of his career. Never fully straying from his roots, it is clearly evident that Italix has been branching out and letting the evolution of his craft take place.
